CONVEYANCING AND REAL ESTATE
Our Conveyancing and Real Estate team participates actively in real estate and financing work, representing financial institutions corporate and high net worth individuals in the financing, development of mixed, residential, industrial and commercial projects and in landlord and tenancy cases.
Our practice also requires us to be in tuned with the workings of the government agencies such as the Urban Redevelopment Authority, Building and Construction Authority, Singapore Land Authority and Central Provident Fund Board to ensure a complete solution to our clients’ varied needs relating to land.
Our team is also active in representing both sellers and buyers in retail land-related financing and sale and purchase projects.
CORPORATE (FUND MANAGEMENT)
Our Corporate team has a wide spectrum of experience in corporate finance and securities, banking and general corporate and corporate commercial transactions. In particular, our team has a niche focus on the fund management industry.
The corporate team provides specialist advice on fund management in the investment advisory services. Our team assist clients in the establishment of both onshore and offshore investment funds representing both fund managers licensed under the Securities and Futures Act, as well as “boutique” exempt fund managers. Our clients also include fund managers involved in managing venture capital and private equity, listed equity and derivatives funds, as well as hedge funds. Our team also advise investors investing into funds established locally or overseas. Our team is also active in providing advisory services of investment fund distributors, trustees, custodians and private banking units of banks.
LITIGATION
Our litigation team has extensive experience in all aspects of civil and criminal litigation and possesses the ability to litigate a case from beginning to end. The team’s underlying principle is to approach and analyse each case with the goal of maximising our client’s recovery and/or strenuously protecting our clients’ legal position.
The litigation team, with its adversarial experience, complements those of the other practice teams of the Firm by assisting clients to identify and avoid potential conflict, where possible. In lieu of litigation, we also advise our clients on ways to resolve disputes by mediation, arbitration or other forms of alternative dispute resolution with the aim of achieving the best possible results.
The scope of our litigation services include:
- Identifying each client’s specific objectives and developing, through in depth discussion and understanding, strategies to manage the dispute;
- Advising on the legal consequences and more importantly, the commercial and economic implication, of each dispute; and
- Attorney representation in the Singapore courts upon commencement of legal proceedings.
CROSS BORDERS TRANSACTION (VIETNAM)
The Vietnam service team is located both in Singapore, as well as at the Firm’s foreign law offices in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The team, with the able assistance of our own Vietnam lawyers and advisers, have expertise in various areas, including joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, corporate and commercial transactions, corporate finance, tax, technology, construction, real estate and dispute resolution. The Vietnam service team strives to provide end-to-end legal services for all commercial transactions in Vietnam.
